Kabir Das ke Dohey - 8

बडा हुआ तो क्या हुआ जैसे पेड़ खजूर।
पंथी को छाया नही फल लागे अति दूर ॥
Bada hua to kya hua, jaise pade khajur.
Panthi ko chaya nahi, phal lagey ati dor

kabir ke dohey Literal meaning: It is of no use in becoming very rich if you can not do any good to others. It is just like Palm tree, who does not provide any shade to traveler and the fruit is also at the top, so no one can eat easily.

This is not applicable only for big things. Some time even we do not do very pity things.

Here is a real incident. Once few passengers were traveling in a train. It was a long distance train, therefore there was 3-4 hours gap between two stop. A 9 year old boy asked for some water from his fellow passenger to take the medicine. The fellow passenger refused, stating that my children may also require the water, although he was having 3-4 bottles filled with water. The boy went to toilet and used toilet water to take medicine. In next few minutes the train reached to a city station.

Kabir says that, they are no good for society. Every individual depending upon his capability and capacity must contribute /help for the benefit of others and mankind.
